The children have been reading the classic childrens book “The Bear under the Stairs”.

The Bear Under the Stairs by Helen Cooper is a beloved children’s picture book about a young boy, William, who is convinced a big, hungry bear lives in his cupboard under the stairs, feeding it daily until a smelly investigation reveals it’s just an old rug and broken chair, leading to a comforting, imaginative resolution with a new toy bear, teaching lessons about overcoming childhood fears and the difference between imagination and reality.

Lots of unexpected objects have arrived in Year 2 this half term! The children have thought carefully about what facts they could tell from the objects and what questions they had.
